You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit, fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. John 15:16

His Pain, My Gain

From that day Jesus was born in the most humble of all places; the manger, signs followed through that silent night. In the high places in Jerusalem, there was obvious unease because the appearing of a new superstar revealed the birth of a different King. The one, prophecy had talked about. The King of kings. The gifts from wise men revealed a King was born, and a priest was born. But the third gift was most uncommon, Myrrh a spice for burial. Who could see in the new born King, a Lamb for the slaughter! What has death got to do with the Holy One?

But seven hundred years before His birth, a prophet of God had revealed great details of the last 24 hours of the new born King. His pain would be my gain! A root out of dry ground; born of a virgin! Despised and rejected by men; earthly men would be looking for the glory of this world in the pride of life, they would be disappointed in a humble servant! But He was pierced for our transgressions, crushed for our iniquities. Every punishment He received worked a miracle for us instead. He was oppressed and afflicted. The punishment that brought us peace was upon Him.

Child of God, there is nothing in this life we can give or do in exchange. We can only praise Him. When we praise Him we return glory to Him. Praise Him! When you preserve your body as a living sacrifice to Him, your life becomes an aroma, a praise unto Him. Praise Him! When your Godly character; the fruit of the Spirit within you attracts converts to Him. Praise Him! When you obey His new commandment of love showing people the way — that God is love. Praise Him! When you give God first place and others second place before yourself. Surely His pain is our gain, and we can return the praise to Him.
