You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit, fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. John 15:16

No Place Like Home

"For in him we live and move and have our being." (Acts 17:28)

I saw a little boy standing alone by a hedge, near a post office in Hong Kong. It is uncommon in Hong Kong to see a 6 or 7 year old child starkly lonely like this. I hope this child has not missed the way, my mind reflected. It was not long, I heard the lad screaming and some adults gathered around him trying to help a lost child find his parent or guardian. I saw this little one scanning the faces of the passers-by in a desperate effort to recognize any familiar person. At this point I broke drown in tears, praying that something may happen and this little one rejoins his family. The sight of a little boy weeping and anguished by loneliness amidst fear and sorrow, struck me with equal sorrow. All he wanted at this moment was the way home, or the face of a family member. The presence of many sympathizers, including a police officer that came in, did not comfort the lost child much. He was taken away by the police, hopefully to help him find a way home. For the lad, home is simply to "find my Daddy."

In the same way there are many lost souls in this dark world today. Though many have found home and have returned. But how many of the lost, are crying for a way home like the little boy? Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." (John 14:6). Have you found Christ?
