You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit, fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. John 15:16

Possessing Our Possessions

Numbers 32:9 – For when they went up unto the valley of Eshcol, and saw the land, they discouraged the heart of the children of Israel, that they should not go into the land which the Lord had given them.

In Numbers 13 we have the Bible account of the 12 spies Moses sent into the land of Canaan – the land God was giving to them. God had given the terms of reference for this task of inspecting the land (Num 13:17-20).

Unfortunately 10 of the spies became fearful when they considered the difficulties and obstacles to possessing the land. They reported to the Israelites about the giants that would be impossible to defeat (Num 13:25-32).

The result was that those who did not believe the Word of God concerning the promised land died in the wilderness. Only Caleb and Joshua who wholly followed the Lord were able to enter the land (Num 32:12).

What can we learn?
* Don't speak evil against anything God has given to you.
* Sometimes the opinions of the majority are not right.
* Follow God wholeheartedly, do not doubt Him.
* Don't be distracted and defeated by the words of others.
* You will be victorious by listening to God and being obedient.
* Make God number one in your life and you will possess your possessions.
